Gluten and casein intolerant, I had first hand experience adapting to a restricted diet. After years of struggling with a variety of symptoms including fatigue, joint pain, memory loss, inability to focus and lethargy, she was relieved to learn the cause.
While identifying solutions that work, we met others with similar dietary limitations and became aware of the isolation many people feel when they are no longer able to participate in mainstream society’s food based social activities.
Health Coaches help clients identify what the concerns, issues, and roadblocks are for each client. Focusing on the choices they make and the goals they set, she encourages them to research, experiment with, and adopt new habits that support their health.
By helping each individual identify for themselves what they value and solutions that work for them, we enhances the quality of life of clients and give them valuable tools to help them succeed. The health coaching approach is simple: learn what is important to clients, what is blocking them, and where the client wants to go; and guide them through questions and exercises that help them gain clarity. The heightened awareness resulting from these activities helps trigger the client to move into action and incorporate new behaviors, ways of thinking, and adopt new habits.
